There are straight married middle aged ftms. But, I already fit into society- I was in my 30s, married, had the same job I have now, etc. To the extent there were life effects, they were negative, but I wouldn't want to overstate that side of things.

I came very close to losing my marriage. Professionally I think it's seen by some as slightly foolish and undermines my seriousness. But, to me, it made no sense not to seek treatment for a medical condition, or to put weird moral ideas on it.
