The one flaw I can see is that about 3-5% of the time the "made up" headline written by someone for comedy will turn out to have actually happened, too.

Fun game idea: Prepare sets of headlines, 2 real one fake, from let's say 6-9 months ago and see if people can correctly identify what was actually happening less than a year ago vs what is a ridiculous mad-lib.
