TERFs believe that trans men are women AND THEREFORE we have no agency, we are passive. When TERFs talk about trans men they talk about girls who hatethemselves (bc all women must hate themselves) and believe we are men (because women we are prone to false beliefs).
TERFs don't see trans men as a threat. We're victims, not perpetrators. We're passive, not active. We are confused, not wrong. This isn't subtle. It's sexism, based in a belief that women's biology makes someone inferior and in need of protection.
I was in an exchange with a TERF yesterday (I know, I know) who told me "a transmommy is not your salvation". I'm a 42-fucking-year-old man, and a married foster parent of teens. But she thought "transmommy" was relevant concept, bc I'm a trans man.
I'm sure a transmommy is a wonderful thing to have, but I am not in need of any more parents- I have two, they're in their 70s. TERF sexism makes trans men into women, and women into children. Neither step is OK.
