What we know about detransitioners is they made a major mistake on identity matters at least once already. Asbsolutely no shame in working your shit out, but this is not a group people should listen to when a much larger group of people who made similar decisions wasn't wrong.

It's because you're the ex-gays of the transgender rights movement. Yes, you're real people. You're also the faces of a propaganda campaign to undermine trans rights.
Under the guise of saving the poor detransitioners from themselves they hope to increase restrictions on transition care, driving us underground and making it nearly impossible to safely transition. Hope that clears it up for you!

It's a totally reasonable equivalency. Some gay men had issues with drugs and/or abusive relationships and blamed gay identity for it, and were amplified by the far right to try and discredit all gays. The same exact dynamic is going on w/detransitioner narratives.
