There's no actual 'culture war', is there? It's just a new way of describing disagreements between people who hate racism & discrimination & people who love it. Meanwhile, 'woke' has just replaced 'politically correct' as the most pretentious way of saying 'not a massive bigot'.

Someone tried to me sacked for talking about ‘male’ and ‘female’ anatomy. No actual culture war?

I trust they failed. People call for me to be sacked every day for saying words. Am I at war without realising it?

James, I love you, I listen every day, but please don't trivialise this. Women professors like Emma are under constant attack for just stating facts.

I don't mean to trivialise anything. I was thinking mostly of statues and racists when I wrote my tweet & am a bit surprised by the direction of some replies. Presumably, nobody would argue that Emma and her colleagues are on the same side as Donald Trump in this so-called 'war'?

That is precisely what people do argue. If you stick up for the sex-based rights of women, or even defend the material & objective existence of women (as JKR did) you will be seen as being a Trump supporting, less-than human, morally awful sub-human - & they will get you sacked.

I would love to be in the position to say to him… “You know what I am going to do here, don’t you? I am going to ask you what the word ‘woman’ means."

You are in the position, Andy! My answer is that I'm incredibly confused & acutely conscious of the pain caused by holding any strong public position on this issue. But I don't believe that people with penises should be allowed into women only spaces. That's as far as I've got.

Trans men in women's spaces can make women every bit as uncomfortable- we'll make a point of it. I'm a passing trans man. I can pee standing up with the door open, then rinse my prosthetic penis out in the sink next to your daughter.
