I agree, Evan. I support detransitioners, but in 2019 it became clear to me the GC movement was using them the same way evangelicals use ex-gay people. It gave me the creeps. I spoke out against that kind of amplification and got cancelled for it. We need to amplify trans men.
The ex-gay comparison is apt. There are men whose lives were torn apart by street living and drugs, who connected the gay sex they had at the time to the problems they faced. But gay people don't have to answer them bc their experience isn't relevant to what being gay is.

Right. I remember last year there was an ex-gay and ex-trans event in the US the same day detransitioners marched for GCs in UK. The US event had two ex-gay men that survived the Pulse shooting. I feel the negative emotions are the same with both groups. Shame needs resolution.
