My rural community is beating expectations on COVID cases and I have a theory about why: A Meals on Wheels outreach that called everyone over 65 in the county and offered meal delivery and personal shopping to all.
3. Indirect social effect: Relatives and friends of those called hear about the call. Relatives and friends of those with deliveries hear about deliveries. Anyone who hears about the effort get the message: Our community takes COVID seriously.

In a county of 65,000, these kinds of effects are greatly magnified. Neighbors talk to neighbors, parents to children, friends to friends. The result: I rarely see anyone w/o a mask, 42 total cases so far.
