Speaking on a social level, the timing of the SCOTUS decision is amazing and may nearly wipe out the effect of Trump's EO on Friday.
Because the Trump admin wanted to be cute and announce on a Friday, the ordinary news consumer won't have heard about the EO. If today they hear about SCOTUS, the non-discrimination story will be the only message they hear.

Picture a transphobic doctor, not a hardcore news junkie: She probably won't know Trump says she can discriminate. The message she'll get is Trump's SCOTUS saying discrimination isn't allowed. (A low level consumer probably won't distinguish btw employment v medical settings.)

Hopefully, the legal picture will also improve based on the precedent. But from a social standpoint I think the EO is all but negated.
