I'll never stop fighting for people to hold trans medical care to the same standards of other medical care. That's all I want. No special standards or extra hurdles. Just treat it like other treatments.

They hold trans care to a standard of 100% success. If a transition related treatment doesn't work for every single patient, it's a scandal. In medicine no treatment is ever 100% successful. Transition surgeries, for example, has less regret than routine cosmetic procedures.

If doctors' understanding of who is and isn't helped by transition evolves to the point where fewer people detransition- as long as it happens without negatively impacting trans people's care- I'm all for it. But it will never be perfect, and regret rates are not currently high.

My gender therapist has kept up with me more than any general practitioner I have ever had. She would call me to check in, just so she wouldn't have to charge me for the follow-up and gave me an open ended invitation to come back at anytime with no xtra charge or re-admission.

I've had 4 hormone therapy providers, 3 of whom I stopped visiting because I moved. I'm sure I mentioned to at least one of them that I might be moving, but it's likely that from the perspective of 1 or more of them I simply disappeared. Didn't detransition, just moved away.
