If you're a cis woman who oopsy-mistakey-ed your way into transitioning, you're not trans and never were. But most detransitioners are just trans people who found transitiinung too hard and may retransition later. What's confusing you?
Really there are so few detransitioners that people are probably describing the one or two people they know. In my opinion- and if you've read my tweets you may know this- detransitioners have no place in the conversation about trans issues.

GCs have a position that trans men are invalid and can stop being trans/not transition medically if they simply embrace their womanhood For this to be true, detransitioners have to be every bit as trans as trans people, but also not inconveniently retransition.

How could you even know how many detransitioners there are? Are you going by the papers that define it as people who request *another* set of surgeries? Or only the people who return to the clinic and the word "regret" ends up in their medical record?? Take a gander at r/detrans

When my child began transitioning, I specifically asked her clinic about their patient outcomes. They did not track outcomes - and did not know a clinic that did. This particular clinic is in a major American city. So... no one knows what happens to these kids. 1.

All I want is for trans medicine to be held to the same standards as other medicine. To my knowledge long term follow ups are not standard in any medical setting. If you think they should be that has nothing to do with trans medical care.

Oh of course. Because only people who 100% support your rhetoric are allowed to share their experience. Pretty standard stuff now.

2. Do you ever wonder why gender clinics serve transitioning kids - but don’t know anything about detransitioners? That’s because these clinics don’t practice medicine. These clinics only do advocacy. And they don’t know the difference.

You don't think it's bc detransition is rare and no treatment is 100% effective. By medical standards detransition is just the rare time a usually successful treatment doesn't work. Any treatment has those.

I think there's way more than we know. Most detrans will say they had absolutely no support. If they don't have support, then there's a very good chance that there isn't quality data about how many there are/aren't
