Certainly there are some people for whom transition didn't work (often temporarily- many detransitioners will retransition). The lie is that trans men are rare while detransitioners are common and growing.

Detransitioners have people who want to listen to them and hold up their voices. And the truth is there are more who want to listen to detransitioners and tell their stories than listen to trans men and tell ours. Until that changes, the detransition lie will spread easily.
