I mean, it gave her the chance to improve the study, whether that was the intended effect or they were just trying to be rude. Someone actually attempting to mess with the study wouldn’t tell her in advance, so that’s why I’d consider it helpful to Littman, even if rude.
It looks like she started doing screening interviews after this? If so, the tweeter gave Littman a gift, helping her identify an obvious flaw in her research method and correct it before it tainted her paper.
