My dysphoria did fluctuate/does fluctuate, but there was a consistent and extremely noticeable trend downward from when I began wearing men's clothing.

Wearing men's clothes was enough to make my untreatable depression sub clinical (long before I considered transition), binding was better, so was starting testosterone, so was passing.

(Not to say that there aren't trans people who aren't helped by cosmetic or social measures and then experience a significant decrease in dysphoria with medical measures- but as an individual you should certainly be wondering what's up if you're not feeling even a bit better.)

On a related note, if you’ve detransitioned but still struggle with a desire to transition, that’s dysphoria and you’re probably one of the many future re-transitioners we know are in the detransitioner population.
