The truth is that the regret rate is a lot lower than other procedures! So, maybe a lot of extra hurdles for just this procedure isn't coming from medical reasoning, but bigotry that you've inadvertently gotten yourself caught up in?
But if it makes transition harder that's okay with you, right? What if trans medical procedures were shown to have a similar success/regret rate as other medical procedures? Would that change your views on whether making them more difficult was a necessary evil?
