Hell, part of the reason her campaign is because she WAS trying to appeal to moderates, and clearly could not do that, AND lost progressive support in trying to do so. Ultimately this was an election progressives weren't going to win meaningfully no matter what.
I disagree. I think Warren was crippled by leftists voting with their hearts instead of their heads, unwilling to accept that Dem primary voters could go further left but they were going to insist on nominating a Dem party member.

I really don't think Dems would have ever gotten behind her all the way. She would have been a compromise at best, and even then, the fact remains she just really wasn't pulling the numbers she should have after she started trying to appeal to the middle.

If she actually appeared dedicated to passing the policies she was proposing, I honestly believe they would have fought her just as hard. At the same time trying to reel back her message made it obvious to many that she was not nearly so committed to those policies
