the gatekeepy nonsense around the bi l×sbian discourse, especially with baby gays spreading around 2nd wave shit mostly, is tiring. i'm tired of this rehash of gold star/biphobia, i can't imagine what this is like for anyone who is or has been a lesbian

I get it. But honestly, living it, lesbians are a great community to start in. They have a tendency to be gatekeeper-y and uptight, yes. But they’re hardworking, principled to a fault, earnest, empathetic. They can over-interpret rules. It’s a fault. But they’re good people.

Individuals are a completely different thing from a community or culture. I was talking about the latter. I disagree that it's somehow wrong to talk about the general flavor or feeling of a culture one is or has been part of.
