Agreed but that office is set up to take advantage of a system that allows minority rule. Never forget that he lost by almost 3 million votes.
The electorate voted for radical change with Obama, and didn't get it but liked Obama. Then they voted again for radical change with Trump. Once again they didn't get it- and they don't like Trump nearly as much as they liked Obama.

Oh, I haven't forgotten. It's going to be a hard road for the Democrats no matter what. But a platform of returning to normalcy is arguably more risky than one of radical change for an electorate that keeps saying they want change.
