Look, I came out at trans at 38. Until I was 37 I’d have said I was cis no matter who asked me or how they asked. I don’t believe I WAS cis. I was some combination of lying, in denial, and ignorant about what being trans was.

But that doesn’t mean that some hypothetical person who saw me and thought “egg” in those years could have known. If you think you know other people’s gender identities, you’re really just guessing- and with less info to go on than the people themselves.
