Creative workers have a tendency to get into political and creative disagreements with one another and then permanently dislike various people because of past disagreements and then be mad when other people don't also hate the people that they hate. And it can be A LOT.

People are complicated. There's an academic in the sciences who many people have experienced to be substantively damaging to their academic progress who is also known to be a hero to others. I believe everyone.

That's just one example, and it's not to say the bad stuff is excused just because there is good stuff. But it does raise the question of whether addressing the bad stuff is on the whole better than just disposing of the person.

Anyway, I'm still against a politics of disposability. I'm also against harassing people for having multifaceted responses to people's fuck up's or for not wanting to be involved with a politics of disposability.

I'm especially against rupturing being in community with people that you have good relations with over a strategic and emotional disagreement about how best to respond to a wound that you both share.
