The older I get, the lower my threshold for what’s an immoral amount of money for a human to hoard falls. $1 Billion? $500 million? $50 million? $5 million? At a certain point hoarding more money than you can ever spend while people die in the streets is an evil act.

I literally cannot imagine seeing $5 million in my bank account and not just going on a spending spree paying off medical debts and paying peoples rent. I can’t understand how people sit on literal billions and feel no need to pour it out to support others.

This is not an excuse, but I think a lot of people who have that impulse get scammed a couple of times and then feel paranoid and foolish and grow more and more resistant to helping others.

I get it, but there are ways around that, like donating money to charities directly, or opting to pay above your required tax bracket
