Well, it happened. I was referred to as she by my mother. I was irritated in the moment, obviously, but I'm not sure whether to settle on unhappy it happened at all or happy bc the first instance was three full days into the visit.

On a merrier note: My beard is at least as good as my brother's and rivals my dad's in thickness. I am a competitive bearder.

Update: My sister, who is very supportive, slipped up once as well. Mom (who has not always been as supportive as I'd have liked) is off the hook, I'm just taking it as progress w/o perfection.

Last year at Thanksgiving my mom seemed to have intentionally decided to stop trying and misgendered me consistently for the entire visit, so I was just a bit on edge when she slipped that first time. But, she seems to be trying her best.

I hope, like my mom, it's a temporary setback with him.
