Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say anything good about Cats ever.

I was a kid in the 80s. CATS was something everyone loved until it became something everyone hated. Both the love and the subsequent hate seem too much, to me. There’s some neat stuff, especially for kids! It has a baggy, fearless weirdness I find admirable in a piece of art.

I'm Switzerland on the question of Cats, having never seen it myself. I was merely making an observation. And FWIW, I'm strongly in favor of baggy, fearless weirdness.

I don’t understand why it was *so* popular. That’s the truly strange thing. But I recommend watching the movie based on the broadway show. It’s surreal-these amazing singers and dancers giving their all to this completely bonkers premise, in cat ears and leg warmers.
