I would like to hear unified theories why Buttigieg seems to viscerally trigger lefties in a way that Biden doesn’t.

The primary is like fog-of-war land, because he's running to the left of where Hillary was in 2016 (as is Biden), and so to suss out why there's this unmistakable contempt roaming around out there on his left wing needs a bit of sociology.

I feel certain that Mayor Pete would make a point of distancing himself from trans rights in the general, in order to seem "less extreme" on LGBTQ issues. Biden would not have to do this, bc he's old, everyone assumes he's a little backwards.

Obviously that's not why "the left" viscerally hates Buttigieg, but perhaps it's an example of something larger- his newness and his eagerness to tack right at the earliest possible moment. Biden is bad in a dull way. Buttigieg's gonna knife someone.
