Yeah, it’s fucked up. I’ve had multiple nightmares about nuclear war killing everyone I loved as an adult. As a kid I thought any night it could be the end of the world before I woke up, and I had dreams of my skin falling off and dying horribly.
Even now, I sometimes get dreams of the flash and the hot wind. My mother was in college during the Cuban Missile Crisis but her nightmares are an earlier horror: in her worst dreams, she’s being chased by Nazis.
