I will say again: I firmly predict that if Pete Buttigieg is the nominee he will make some gesture of opposition to trans rights as going "too far" as a ploy to seem moderate on LGBTQ issues.https://twitter.com/MagsVisaggs/status/1203044889585475590 …

What form will it take? Who knows. Could be continuing the ban on trans people in the military, could be making fun of nonbinary pronouns or coming out against providing trans medical care in prisons. But some symbolic stand against trans rights will happen, have no doubt.

I don’t care how Pete feels about chik-fil-a protestors, but going out of his way to distance himself from them sends a specific message. That message is “I’m one of the good ones.”

I’m no activist. I’m temperamentally not right for it. Sometimes activists make me cringe. But I don’t present myself as “one of the good ones”. It diminishes my dignity to cherry pick some dumb college kids & hold them up for ridicule to make myself look moderate.
