I don’t care how Pete feels about chik-fil-a protestors, but going out of his way to distance himself from them sends a specific message. That message is “I’m one of the good ones.”
I’m no activist. I’m temperamentally not right for it. Sometimes activists make me cringe. But I don’t present myself as “one of the good ones”. It diminishes my dignity to cherry pick some dumb college kids & hold them up for ridicule to make myself look moderate.
