This is all proof of the arbitrary aspects of "whiteness" and why racism has nothing to do with skin color. Race doesn't exist, even to white supremacy. It is simply an application of power.
This reminds me of Ani, an Armenian ex-girlfriend. Ani wondered aloud if she was a person of color, for school application purposes. I was unsure. This conversation is about the only time I ever think of the Kardashians. They don’t read “white” to me, they read “other” if that makes sense. But I talk to other people who are like “I had no idea they weren’t white” or some variation of that, implying their otherness.

I used them as an example when teaching about race and I think it surprises the class every time to see how different people view them. We then get to compare where these different views come from, both boa personal experience & radicalized societies. Anywhoo, saving this thread
