How can a trans-masc adult support trans-femme youth? I think my foster kids are drawn to the fact that I'm trans, but not feminine- bc of negative messages they've gotten about femininity in others & themselves. How do I show them femininity is OK without being femme myself?

One thing we have done with our kids (both cis boys) is to have conversations in front of them about whatever show we’re watching together. We will ostensibly be talking to one another (not to them), but will be doing it loud enough so they can hear. 1/

We openly critique toxic messages and cheer the smart choices and talk about great character outfits and the ways that they interact with the world. So, we’re just talking about TV, but we’re also championing femme representation 2/
