I wish Buck Angel wasn’t the closest thing we had to a famous trans guy. I also wish that trans women supported trans men they liked as vociferously as they denounced the assholes.

Hard to have pride, with no role models, hard to have exemplars of who our young trans men could be- we mostly look to cos men or trans women, myself very much included.
I’ll be honest though, I didn’t think I’d have to explain why role models and representation can be important.

Wtf have trans women got to look up to? The only trans women who are centred in the media tend to be wealthy, have exorbitantly expensive surgeries to be passable in a way 90% of us can't afford or relate to, are selected by the media to be conservative figures.
