I mean, yes, I am a true hero, obviously. But also, my kids are great! They make me laugh, they're sweethearts, and my co-parents and I wouldn't foster if it was a slog of joyless martyrdom, honest.

The struggle to convince folks I like my kids is real. Them: You're a foster parent? So WONDERFUL what you're doing FOR those kids. Me: Yeah, it's a ton of fun. Kids are wacky. We love having them. Them: So INSPIRING. A true HERO. Me: uhh. sure. let's go with that, I guess.
