Yea, I don’t buy that....

Don't buy that it's an example of something you seemed to think didn't exist, or simply don't agree with it?

I don’t agree with it. Sex is a material reality... what you describe is not.

OK. I didn't expect you to agree, already said my own ideas are more complicated. You said it was impossible to believe trans men are men/trans women are women without believing in innate gender identity. Now you understand it's perfectly possible, yes?

Replying to @e_urq @StuffNNonense and
Innate gender identity isn't a widespread belief among trans people- certainly not among trans people who have spent 5 minutes thinking about it. Insofar as "gender critical" means critical of that, it's not distinguishing bc most trans people share that criticism.

OK, fair enough. I would ask you explain to me then, if gender is not innate, how a trans person knows their gender is not that normally associated with their biology ? Are you implying trans people learn to be trans after birth and are not born that way at all ?

Why would you assume there's just one way for a person to become trans? My belief is: People are individuals who should be allowed to them speak for themselves and be in charge of their own lives. There's no benefit in forcing simplistic explanations on complex phenomena.

So wait ... some people become trans ... they aren’t just trans to start with? So can they become not trans ? Is conversion therapy something that might work then ? Is affirmation whatever maybe not the best way to handle trans kids ?

I'm not following you.

You also said "Innate gender identity isn't a widespread belief" If not innate, that suggests that rather then being an integral part of a person's make up, GI is a superficial facade that can be adopted and discarded at will. Again, not an argument I hear very often here.

Again, not making sense, can't follow.
