I said other- I’d be willing to use another term, but not “gender critical” bc it is misleading and inaccurate. TERF is somewhat inaccurate as well, bc the current era TERFs aren’t necessarily even feminists, but more accurate than gender-critical.

That's the point I'm making, except it's also not the job of a journalist to take your frame of the matter uncritically. A journalistic description needs to in some way capture the central conflict, which is that TERF/GC folks oppose efforts by trans people to be destigmatized.

The central "idea" or "ideal" of TERF/GC folks is that efforts by trans people to be treated as normal and nonthreatening are actually harmful/dangerous and must be opposed.

I don’t agree with your description of the central core of GC thinking (you frame it as being mostly focused on being anti trans, I don’t see it that way). But ok. I get your point. I don’t however think you’ll find a better phrase.
