It's an extremely common experience for trans women to transition and then to their shock discover that they, all of a sudden, are terrible at their jobs. At my last gig, I went from golden child to screwup almost immediately after i transitioned. https://twitter.com/razorfemme/status/1172548559658336256 …

You also gotta wonder how much of that is strictly T and how much of that has to do with cis guys being socialized in a way that de-emphasizes solving problems with words
-
Sure, but the article I posted (and wrote) talked about a study of trans guys that seemed to show a loss of grey matter in areas of the brain associated with language after starting T.

As a cis male who LOVES language I'd like to be reassuring: Although I am a slow reader, and I often rewrite a sentence MANY times before and after I reach the period, I still love to write and I'm told that I've got a way with words. Passion and patience may be more important.

Of course, it would also be fair to point out that I've made my career in software instead of writing. So... there's your grain of salt.

I read the study, and it’s being misinterpreted for sensationalism. There was a reduction of grey matter, but the researchers also found increased connectivity between the two regions which probably compensates. Also, no actual measurement of verbal ability was taken.
