so we're nearing the end of our voyager rewatch and i gotta say tuvix 100% ruins janeway for me in a way that i found genuinely surprising. it colors her every decision in my eyes. her every claim to ethics and duty.

My wife and I have a small but very real amount of distrust and animosity with each other over Tuvix. I feel as you do, while she sees Tuvok and Neelix as being basically more legitimate as people than Tuvix.

to me thats immaterial in front of the brute facts of the moment: tuvok and neelix were gone, and the only possible representative of them was begging to be allowed to live.

I both strongly agree and find it honestly disturbing that Cassie saw the same episode and agreed with Janeway.
