So, how much obsessive goal-oriented learning will lead to the desired outcome of casual competence?
I'm attempting to learn a little Smash Ultimate to play with my games-loving kid, and faced with a dilemma: I just want to play this casually. But, I've never played any sort of fighting game before, and I am slow to pick up new controls and new mechanics.

I'm absolutely terrible. The worst! It's a hand-eye difficulty. However, I try, & I learned a ton from my son, while also sharing a belly laughs about my goofs--getting stuck in corners & such. To me, that's what it's about--laughing & talking & spending time together. Have fun!
