Yes, that's quite true. That said, I know a hell of a lot of trans men whose reproductive health needs are virtually the same as cis women's, myself included, and I've been on hormones for almost 6 years.
How many, and for how long? Your experience of having periods to the contrary, it’s rare.

The fact that I have periods has nothing to do with my gynecological needs, though. Most cis women's only interaction with a gynecologist is for annual exams, which trans men should be having anyway, regardless of sexual preference.

And for those who are bi or gay, which I've seen posited as roughly 60% of the trans male population, they should be seeing someone about birth control options.
