As a trans guy who has never been or wanted to be pregnant, I'm glad those who want to be included in talk about abortion and reproductive issues are speaking up, but it also gives me the willies every time.

I think a lot of trans guys would quietly prefer not to be included in these conversations or reminded about anatomy we never chose to have.

"Trans men and NBs" is too broad for these conversations. Someone who presents nearly full time as a woman but would prefer if their pronouns were respected at the gynocologist has very different concerns than a man with vaginal atrophy deciding whether to ask for a pap smear.

I'm delighted to have NBs in my trans community, less delighted when people talk as though trans men and NBs have the same or similar concerns when it comes to reproductive health.

I'm confused as to what you're trying to say here.

I think I clarified further in my more recent thread: that respectful pronoun use and inclusive language seem to me to be taking the place of education about actual different health needs that go beyond what words people use for who gets pregnant or who has abortions.

Yes, that's quite true. That said, I know a hell of a lot of trans men whose reproductive health needs are virtually the same as cis women's, myself included, and I've been on hormones for almost 6 years.

Virtually the same? If you've been on hormones for 5+ years you don't have periods. Don't need to be asked about irregular periods, cramps, etc.

I'm a straight trans man married to a cis woman, so there's no need for me to be asked about birth control or pregnancy. That knocks out everything save pap smears, and I'm not sure there's reason for those if I'm not having sex with men. (Would be nice if my doctor knew, though)

There's absolutely reasons for pap smears. They're for detecting cancer, which has nothing to do with having sex with men.

I thought the cancer was caused by hpv, though. No hpv risk, cancer risk must decline sharply.

Nope, it *can* be caused by it, but that's far from the sole cause. And my dear friend, you can get HPV without sleeping with men. Just FYI.

So, my dear friend, what I said was correct. Nothing applies to me but Pap smears and it would be helpful to have a doctor who could talk about my specific cancer risks, which are reduced if not zero from not having sex with men.
