Just a few days ago my genderqueer, semi-closeted foster kid told me that his brother, who hates trans people, was fine with calling me by my correct name and using correct pronouns because I "look like" my gender.

Now, of course, this isn't where we want people to be. And I told my kid that there's no one way people of a certain gender should look. But, exposing ignorant people to passing trans men can be a powerful tool in helping them realize how little they really know.

If bathroom laws forcing people to use the restroom associated with their assigned sex at birth are implemented, the most powerful thing trans men can do is simply comply with the law. Make them call the police and arrest us for following their own bad rule.
