1. Semenya is not trans 2. Semenya wins bc she’s incredible 3. There are many biological advantages; eg. height 4. There are many social advantages; eg. nutrition as a child due to wealth of family 5. We don’t split competition due to 3 or 4 6. This is bigotry masking as concern https://twitter.com/SkyNews/status/1119131011735064576 …

i was asking about trans athletes vs male or female sports. idk anything about this person, just wondering how that plays out when/if the subject comes up.
-
Lol, yeah, I got around to that but I wanted to start by making clear that this athlete who is the target of so much hate isn’t even trans- she’s hated for not looking like some people think a woman should look, which is something trans people know a lot about.

All that being said, the Olympics allows trans women to compete with other women after being on hormones for long enough, with a testing regimen, bc research shows trans women don’t have an advantage after they’ve been on hormones long enough to lose muscle mass.
-
This has been the case since 2004. So far the only transgender Olympian has been a trans man, who competed against men. Trans women haven’t dominated the women’s competition in the past 15 yrs, but if they suddenly did I’m sure the guidelines would be reconsidered.
