That's certainly a problem! What I'm wary of here are attempts to crack down on moderate advantage (including tutors/prep courses saved up for by not-rich parents) in a way that conflates it with (and, often, gives a pass to) things that actually demonstrate extreme wealth
Right- but those moderate advantages turn into society wide stigma against my kids (I’m a foster parent) for not having gotten them. I’m all for making people think about those little advantages and how they add up, and who doesn’t get them.
I am not for asking people to focus on little advantages. I don't see that as the road to solidarity. It's *good* for people who've been dealt a mix to be aware of their own disadvantages, too, and to use that as a road to getting where those with less still are coming from.
It's quite possible to have been screwed over, *and* for others to have been even more so. The ideal then isn't for the merely semi-screwed-over to atone for the scraps they have.
