Kinda off topic, but I was missing about what an actual meritocracy might look like. I thought to myself, if I'm in a meritocracy, I'm going to try to bluff as much merit as I can because I want a better life

So to maintain the true meritocracy it seems they would need to fight against that by being hyper rigid and invasively testing people etc. Which seems bad. Not that what we have now is at all good
