Joking aside, I was relieved when I saw Terry Crews' actual comments. They're poorly expressed, and I don't even agree with the sentiment, but the sentiment that children need healthy male and female influences is widespread and far from the worst idea out there.
Tons of lesbian couples I've known have talked about needing to make sure their male children had healthy male role models. I probably expressed this myself when I was young and imagining myself as a parent.

I don't believe it any more, both because I know plenty of masculine, female-identified people who can model healthy masculinity without being men, and because I'm a lot more skeptical of seeing children's psychological needs as all the same or similar.
