It's mandatory for a teacher not to call a child an idiot or a freak or a loser or stupid in a classroom either. Why is this different? A child may be a stupid idiot loser- that may be the truth- but it's not an appropriate true for a teacher to speak in class.
No matter how strongly she believes her religion to be true, or how sincerely she thinks her students need to hear that truth, she can't speak it in class.

Probably no teacher can prove or disprove the existence of God. I'm against forcing people to aver things that are clearly contradicted by convincing evidence, particularly when they work for public institutions that are supposed to be impartial.
