Speaking as both a parent and as a pediatrician, keeping screen time limited can be really tough to manage, and it is perfectly useless as a measure for the “type of family” anyone is in.

We have a foster who is an older teen, and a big part of how we established our bond with him was by joining into his interest in video games. I can't imagine he'd be thriving as well as he is if, instead, we'd obsessed about ways of limiting his screen time.
