I was just talking about this with my roommate the other day, but it seems likely to me that the overwhelming majority of our "greatest" male American figures (politicians, artists, etc.) sexually assaulted people at some point in their life. Nice and disheartening.
What if all of most of our presidents were rapists? How would that change our view of history? How do we start to bring that possibility on board, intellectually, without normalizing or excusing rape?
