I had no idea how quickly I could come to love a 17 year old and think of them as my own.

...So I sometimes ponder possibly fostering a child. But honestly have some worry about my ability 2 love/care 4 non-biological child, especially if child is older. (Not sure if I got what it takes.) But I also worry about my ability 2 love in general, & find I can/do evry time.
For us, it's been an incredibly positive experience. Sure, there are hard things. Emotionally hard and other things that are more just annoying. But it's incredibly rewarding. We get back more than we give.

There's a particular need in this county for people who will take older queer teens- who very often have few other issues but are hard to place due to being queer. We work with Redwood Community Services, which is the LGBTQ friendly agency for this area.
