Hey, that's Mark, my editor at Outward. He edited and published a piece, by me, on trans fears about passports back in March. https://slate.com/human-interest/2018/03/mike-pompeo-could-reverse-a-key-transgender-friendly-passport-policy.html … He was very open to my writing about newer passport concerns, but others got there first with the reporting.

He's certainly never called trans people's concerns about the Trump administration messing with passports hysterical to my knowledge. Quite the contrary.

Pretty sure her complaint isn't with the author; she's just using the piece as easily read information that points out the problem
