I think that medical interventions with transgender patients should be evaluated by the standards of evidence based medicine, and that the community is often a bit too nervous about the medical establishment (for understandable reasons, mind you).

But Singal has made it clear that he thinks that just by being cis he has access to a degree of objectivity and rightness which tras people, even trans journalists, could never have. And that isn't true, or fair, or compassionate.

Singal has as many biases as any trans person, and they're the particular biases of someone who holds themselves outside and above the community he reports on, with the condescending view that he alone knows what's best.
