"Trans women are invariably described as predatory adult men... however young a trans girl is, she’s never too young to be described by a transphobe in such terms... Meanwhile, a trans man is never too old to be described in infantilizing terms... vulnerable to social contagion."

From mild supporters who don't feel knowledgeable enough to speak on trans issues, to the mildly 'phobic who decide it's not important enough to stick their necks out, and to those who don't care bc it's none of their business, I salute each and every damn one of you.

We're all accustomed to celebrating high profile people who speak up for trans rights, but there are other, unsung heroes whose contributions have gone unnoticed and unmentions. Yes, I'm talking about celebrities who shut up and don't say anything about transgender people.

transphobes really are just allowed to write whatever the hell they want on the internet and in magazines and newspapers and get paid wads of money for it, huh?

This is actually a perfect example of When someone comes out and you weren't expecting it, to you it seems rapid, because that's what coming out is This is what they're trying to pathologise

Lol, hearing that GC women I tried to reason with years ago who blocked me because I don't even know why are disappointed in me, regarding this meticulously sourced article. Die mad I guess.

I can't tell you the inner monologue contortions eggy, pretransition Rozie went through years back, rationalizing why she felt so....GOOD, so affirmed by eating Luna Bars, "the whole nutrition bar for WOMEN". All I knew is that it made my heart sing, somehow.

Hahaha and yet you better believe if I lived in the UK I'd have bought this 'ironically' as an egg with a secret, unacknowledged desire that it would somehow make me manly.

A reasonable person can, for instance, read a sympathetic profile of conversion therapist Kenneth Zucker and consider it a promotion/defense of conversion therapy. Someone else might argue it wasn't, but its certainly not a lie to interpret it that way.

I'm being cute here, obviously, but it's something I've noticed for a long time. Certain people feel able to employ hyperbole, metaphor, and insinuation with impunity while nitpicking and accusing other (TRANS) people of intentional lies if they go half as far.

If you care about freedom of expression, freedom of speech, you should IDOLIZE trans people. We get beaten, cast out, fired, and abused for our freedoms. And we still carry on. You get a handful of nasty twitter replies and you're crying for days.

Freedom for trans people today, freedom for trans people tomorrow, freedom for trans people foreever! OUR FREEDOMS are never in your damn free speech conversation. But that doesn't mean we're free. 3/3
