Marjorie Taylor Greene said that Sandy Hook and Parkland were staged and the parents are actors and the kids are really still alive. Republicans just put her on the committee that oversees school safety. But Ilhan Omar…

Thanks to a decade of hard work by Minnesota volunteers, four bills just passed out of committees: background checks, emergency risk protection orders, secure storage, and a requirement to report lost and stolen guns. 💪💪💪 #mnleg

Women shouldn't have to share our deeply personal and painful stories in order to justify our right to make our own healthcare decisions. Thank you to Senator Mitchell for your bravery and honesty in speaking about your loss and for standing up for women everywhere. #mnleg

Breaks my heart that Sesame Street feels the need to offer resources to help kids process gun violence. How is it possible that we allow so much gun violence to continue?

After an incident of community violence, children (and adults) need to be reminded they are safe and loved. By limiting media exposure & making space for big feelings, caregivers can create a safe space. 💛 For resources on coping with violence, visit m.sesame.org/GunViolence

"Guns are the leading cause of death among kids and teens in Minnesota, and requiring safe storage is vital to saving lives." Thank you to Representative and all the volunteers who have advocated for this life saving legislation. #mnleg

In November, six Minnesota @MomsDemand volunteers were elected and helped flip the state legislature to a Gun Sense Majority. Just this week, state lawmakers introduced a bill to strengthen secure gun storage requirements—a policy proven to save lives.everytown.org/press/minnesot

On this #MLKDay, I want to share a few images of the breathtaking 20-foot-tall monument that was unveiled on Friday in Boston Common, the nation’s oldest public park. It honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

I had so much fun catching up with friends at the Governor's inauguration party last weekend AND I even attempted kicking a field goal in a dress. 😄 I'm so excited to see what they'll accomplish for MN this session. #mnleg #Trifecta #OneMinnesota

We should be able to take our families shopping without witnessing a murder. After all the focus on crime during the election season, I'm looking forward to seeing bipartisan support for gun violence prevention legislation this session.

ICYMI this is Rob Doar admitting I am correct about the balancing language in the RI opinion. I think they are a little nervous because I’m really good at my job. Don’t sweat it, I get things wrong too sometimes. Everyone makes mistakes.

Proud mom moment today: Every year we donate toys and housing items to and the girls use some of their own money to buy gifts for the kids in the shelter. Their generosity this year blew me away.

The Colorado shooter’s dad: “I praised him for violent behavior really early. I told him it works... You’ll get immediate results.” He then went on to praise the Colorado shooter’s grandpa, a MAGA Republican politician named Randy Voepel who supported the January 6 insurrection.

THIS is what the NRA posted yesterday - a meme mocking people with they/them pronouns. Gun manufacturers foment bigotry, racism and misogyny, and then watch the money roll in when Americans buy guns after every mass shooting. The hate is a feature, not a bug.

Mass shootings are fueled by hate. There's a direct line between the anti-LGBTQ rhetoric by far-right politicians and this violence. #DisarmHate

The Colorado Springs mass shooting is a tragic reminder that homophobic and transphobic rhetoric coupled with weak gun laws enable terrorist attacks on the LGBTQ+ community. 10,300 hate crimes involve a gun each year, 20% of which target LGBTQ+ people. everytownresearch.org/report/remembe
